2014 UNCITRAL Asia-Pacific Fall Conference “The Development through the Harmonization of Commercial Law”

UNCITRAL will host 2014 Asia-Pacific Fall Conference titled “Trade development through the harmonisation of commercial law” jointly with University of Macau. The Conference will be held at the Faculty of Law in the new campus of the University of Macau, Macau SAR, on 17 and 18 October 2014.
The theme of the conference is particularly designed to explore the role of regional conduits of international trade and the relevance of harmonisation of trade law. The five conference tracks are expected to cover a range of key contemporary international legal issues arising in the fields of International Commercial Arbitration and Conciliation, UNCITRAL texts on Investor-State Dispute Settlement, International Sale of Goods (CISG & The Hague Principles in International Commercial Contracts), International Transport of Goods and the Rotterdam rules, E-commerce and Cross-Border Insolvency. This conference is expected to attract experts, officials, researchers, scholars, and practitioners from the region and from around the world to share their insightful opinions and research findings related to the conference theme.
The Conference contains invited talks by experts in the different fields including experts from UNCITRAL and regional institutions. The Conference also includes an academic call for paper, which is expected to draw distinguished scholars from around the world. The conference plans to produce specific research output after its conclusion in form of different publications. We hope that the Conference will provide an unsurpassable platform for the legal fraternity to exchange their thoughts and ideas with the experts in the field, create networks and foster cooperation within the region.
